I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. – Proverbs 8:17
Everyone should be so fortunate as to pursue and possibly capture the object of their desire. But what is it really, that adds to your life and leaves you in pursuit? Because it is always in the going, that happiness is found, and great work. The above verse was penned by a pretty wise man. King Solomon died after experiencing all that the world itself could give a person, sort of spiritually and emotionally bereft. Yet he had the wisdom to pen the verse above.
I got to spend an afternoon in between a spate of surf work, with my camera in hand. I found my eye caught by certain things. Captured them. In doing so I realized that I tend to build work around those things that I love. The images from this four hour stretch which occurred on a warm Santa Ana Afternoon and evening on Coast Hwy 1 in South Ventura County are sampled in this piece. Poli Amo.
Skip Saenger sent me this video clip about a woman who loved many. You can see it in her work. Acclaimed photographer, Baron Spafford sent it to him.
I found this beautiful piece as a result of seeing a remarkable image that photographer Larry Beard had shot at Aliso Creek. I thought immediately of Van Gogh.
All of my work was shot on the Canon 5D Mark 2. Lenses are the Canon 24-70 F 2.8 series 2, the 70-200 F 2.8 IS and the Tokina 10-17 fisheye zoom.
Larry used the Canon 60D.
